I'd been quite lazy with wearing dresses lately, so I made the decision to change that today. This coat and dress have been stuck in my closet, and with the "warmer" weather, I thought it'd be a swell idea to put them both to use. Plus, I just got these darling new penny loafers that I've been ecstatic about. I swear, Banana Republic not only makes fantastic clothes and shoes and whatnot, but the fit is always so perfect. At least, that's what I've concluded from my experiences.

This is another spontaneous ensemble, an example of rushing to get dressed in the morning. It's a time when I'd much prefer to sleep as much as I can without being late to class. Truthfully, in the mornings, I get dressed in the dark, so I never truly realize what I look like until I step out of the house. So, the result turned out to be a bit grungy, with the denim on top of the plaid, with the plaid on top of the old Jefferson Airplane tee. I'm big on denim jackets, and I have to say, with the comfortable fit and dark shade on this one, it's become a new favorite. And these pants? We go way back since middle school. I'm pretty darn proud that my love for unconventional pants has remained until now.

My baby, Bowie, recently got neutered, so he's forced to wear a cone for two weeks until he's completely recovered. The majority of my Saturday was spent doing chores, but in the evening, my little sister and I decided to go out for some fresh air and coffee. And of course, once we arrived back home, we were treated with a whole lotta puppy love.
Yup, there's Bowie with his Cone of Misery. Poor fella. We're still in the process of training him, so it's been quite a trip, especially with him being sick with worms and having to wear a cone. It's been a rough week in our household, but this one shall be a new adventure!

Here are the latest additions to my family of records. Sigh, I just can't help myself. The obsession is difficult to contain, but it's not as if I'm even trying to. It's hard on my bank account, but sure is healthy for me personally. Not to mention fun.
Laura Marling - A Creature I Don't Know
The Rapture - In The Grace of Your Love
Washed Out - Within and Without
Real Estate - Days
Yes oh yes. I had been hunting for Real Estate's Days for weeks and weeks, without any luck on my side. So, in desperation, I finally made the purchase on good ol' Amazon. Much to my glee, it arrived in the mail today. I'm absolutely ecstatic to finally have it on vinyl. It's one of my favorite releases from 2011; I can't even count how many times it's been abused on my iTunes.. But, I digress. Tomorrow is looking to be quite rainy, so I'm going to spend my day in the company of my records and coffee. Oh, and my puppy, Bowie.

It was my favorite little person's birthday on the 17th. His name is Gabe, but I've been calling him Wubby ever since he popped out five years ago. He just so happens to be a frequent face on this here blog, simply because he's fantastic and I'm absolutely in love with him. My family and I took the fella to the happiest place on Earth for the day, and as always, we had quite an adventure. I honestly still can't wrap my mind around the fact that he is five years old now. I mean, I still remember his first months so vividly. My favorite little nugget is growing up so fast, and I am so proud of him.
Also, in other (wonderful) news: after months, I finally renewed my Disneyland annual pass! I'll be following my old tradition and taking full advantage of that fantastic privilege. Disneyland still makes me as giddy the way it did me years ago. Then again, it's not like I've really changed much... Plus, they don't call it the happiest place on Earth just for kicks. ;-)

The wool pullover is so awfully comfy. I happened to find it during one of my thrifting adventures, and it's definitely proven to be a great buy. It's not at all heavy, but it feels snug and keeps me warm. In fact, it's also just as comfortable as it looks. And the button-up? Another lucky find. The suede material is so lovely, and I'm all over the shade of gray. As for the boots, those babies were a gift from my lovely aunt. She also found it at a thrift store... which is clearly the land where all the magic happens.

My Monday evening was spent with my favorite ladies, Abbie and Kaity. We're very easily entertained around each other; it never takes too much for us to have a wonderful time and I love that about our friendship. They're the best.
As a treat, here is a wonderful cover that was actually filmed right in my bedroom. It's "Blue Spotted Tail" by Fleet Foxes, performed by Kaity. She has such a beautiful voice that I genuinely love, and I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I do. Watch and listen below!

While today wasn't a complete breeze, it eventually proved to be quite lucky. After successfully purchasing my Coachella 2012 ticket (hip hip hooray!), I went out to lunch with my dear friend Tori. We then made our way to Rhino, a record store I've been frequenting more than usual, and picked up three records I've been hunting for for a while now. At the bookstore, I also found some paperbacks that I didn't have in my library yet.
James Blake by James Blake
Niño Rojo and Rejoicing In the Hands by Devendra Banhart (double LP)
Excellent paperbacks for just 2 bucks each.
After buying my pass to Coachella, I didn't expect to spend so much money today. But obviously, I have a problem letting go of things the moment I stumble upon then. Yup. A big problem. I'm just not a fan of regrets, that's all!

I know, I've been posting in a flurry in the past few days, but I'll slow down again! It's just that I've had a lot to catch up on. But hey, here goes.
Personally, I'm a big fan of wearing sweaters over button-ups shirts. I think it feels nice and snug. In comparison to the recent heat, today was cool enough for me to wear a sweater without feeling disgusting inside. Since I did find this particular one in the men's section of a thrift store, it is baggier, bigger, and much longer than most that I own. It fits me just fine, though. Especially over my shirt. I thought the knit of the sweater, the pattern of the button-up, and the color of the pants complimented one another. I don't really like to be too matchy, so I try to randomize my choices at times just to see how it turns out. I thought this was a casual, comfortable success.

I can't even emphasize how comfortable these pants (or anything, really) are. They're soft, and I love the shade of pink. They're baggy, yes, and I know not everybody is into them, but I personally find them charming. They're pretty straight-forward and simple to wear. I added a print by wearing a plaid shirt from a great favorite of mine, J. Crew. Their stuff is the best.
