I first heard this song when I saw She & Him live in New York in the summer of 2008. Needless to say, I fell in love with the song immediately. Then again, they make it difficult not to fall in love with anything they do, but that’s just me. I’ve heard the rough version(s) of this song prior to today and while I like those, I’m very happy with the way the final product was executed. Enjoy! Just when I thought I couldn’t love Amanda any more than I did, she had to go ahead and sing (plus play guitar) in Dear John and impress me even more. Her voice is actually really lovely and so is the song, you might be (pleasantly) surprised like I was!

So very excited for their new stuff coming out.. I’ve been a fan of theirs before the first record was released because I loved both of them separately and just knew they were going to be a perfect duo. I’ve been fortunate to even meet and speak with them, though for only a brief moment. I’ve already ordered a ticket to their upcoming show in Pomona, which is still a few months away (in April!), but nonetheless, I’m itching and beaming with excitement. Not just that, but I also went ahead and pre-ordered the 7” single and of course, Volume Two. (You can also do that right here on the Merge Records website, where shipping is FREE for anywhere in the US!) And when the tickets to that March show in Los Angeles are released, you bet your bottom I’ll be scoring my own within the first five minutes.

I’ve heard a handful and more different covers (in general), but this certainly has to be one of my favorites. Ben Kweller sure knows how to make a girl swoon; this is too cute for words.
